Automated Notification Templates: Events

This article is for administrators and applies to all versions of Get Connected.

Get Connected's automated notifications include five messages that relate to agency events:

A sixth notification, "Event Notification for Agency Fans," is classified as a standard template. More information on that template is available here.

Event Messages to Agency Manager

Event RSVP Notice to Agency

The "Event RSVP Notice to Agency" notification (formerly "Event RSVP notification") is triggered when a user RSVPs to an event. Also triggered at this time is the "Event RSVP Notice to User" message. 

The default message goes to the manager(s) of the agency that posted the event and provides the name and email address of the person who RSVP'd. 

By default, the RSVP Notice to Agency template includes the following tags, or template keys:

Template Key Description (Text that replaces the key in the message)
to_firstname First name of the recipient
to_lastname Last name of the recipient
to_email Recipient's email address
to_user ID Recipient's user ID number in Get Connected
from_firstname Sender's first name
from_lastname  Sender's last name 
from_userid  Sender's Get Connected user ID 
from_email  Sender's email address 
from_phone  Sender's phone number 
event_id   Event's ID number in Get Connected
event_title Title of the event
event_link Link to the event
event_date Date of the event

Notification of Unregistered Event Attendee

This message is triggered when someone who previously RSVP'ed to an event unregisters from the event.

By default, this template includes the following tags, or template keys:

to_lastname Last name of the recipient (the agency manager)
to_email Email address of the recipient (the agency manager)
user_fname First name of the user who unregistered
user_lname Last name of the user who unregistered

site_url Web address of the site
agency_link Link to the agency's profile page

Event Messages to User

The Event Invitation goes a user who has been invited to an event. The Event RSVP Notice to UserNotify Users Week After RSVP Event Ends, and Upcoming Event Reminder messages go to users who have used the RSVP feature to respond to an event. 

Event Invitation

This notification, formerly titled "Event invite notice," is triggered when an administrator invites users to an event by using the Perform an Action feature in the Manage Users section of the admin panel. Our default message informs the user they they are invited to the event and provides the event title, date, and description.

By default, the Event Invitation template includes the following tags, or template keys:

to_firstname First name of the recipient
to_lastname Last name of the recipient
to_id Recipient's Get Connected user ID
from_firstname First name of the admin who activated the invite
from_lastname Last name of the admin who activated the invite
event_title Title of the event
event_description Description of the event
event_date_start Start date of the event
site_domain URL of your Get Connected platform
site_name Name of your Get Connected platform, as indicated in Site Settings
link Link to the event announcement
link settings Link to the user's profile page, and the opportunity to update their user profiles

Event RSVP Notice to User

The "Event RSVP Notice to User" notification is triggered when a user RSVPs to an event. Also triggered at this time is the "Event RSVP Notice to Agency" message. 

The default message goes to the person who has responded to an event. It confirms that the recipient has RSVP'd and is planning to attend the event. It also includes a link to the event, should the recipient want to view or change their response. 

By default, the RSVP Notice to User template includes the following tags, or template keys:

to_firstname First name of the recipient
to_lastname Last name of the recipient
to_email Recipient's email address
event_id Event's ID number in Get Connected
event_title Title of the event
event_link Link to the event

Notify Users Week After RSVP Event Ends

This notification goes to users who have RSVP'd to an event. It is triggered one week after the event ends. The default message thanks the individual for responding to the event and invites them back to Get Connected to find more events that may interest them.

 

By default, this notification template includes the following tags, or template keys:

event_title Title of the event
to_email Recipient's email
to_firstname Recipient's first name 
site_name Name of your Get Connected site (as specified in Site Settings)
site_link Link to your Get Connected site

Upcoming Event Reminder

The "Upcoming Event Reminder" notification goes to users who have RSVP'd to an event. It is triggered twice: one week before the event occurs, and one day before the event occurs. As a result, the user will receive this notification twice before the event.

By default, this template includes the following tags, or template keys:

Unregistered Event Attendee Confirmation

This message is triggered when someone who previously RSVP'ed to an event unregisters from the event.

By default, this template includes the following tags, or template keys:
